She saw me do my knitting and came over and just started doing my knitting. she was very traditional and didn't speak much english. she managed to communicate to me that she had 8 chıildren and apart from the work she did at the hotel she also knitted things to sell. she then went to find some things that she had knitted to show me.
we took her photo and she immediately said 'Facebook'. We were embarrassed to say that we didn't have Facebook. She then suggested email so we agreed to send the photo to her email address.

Further to the fellowship of knitters, I have joined a Fibre Arts Group at Macquarie, who are mostly knitters. We meet at a tea shop on Wednesdays and today I met a girl who had Uncle Allan as a maths teacher in Scone and another girl who had been involved with the Navigators eight years ago. All making lovely things with beautiful wool. And the tea shop is pretty amazing too - I tried French Earl Grey on recommendation, and it was quite nice.
